Spirally Welded Tubular Hollow Sections
DESCRIPTION
Spirally welded tubular hollow sections are manufactured from steel coil by using a continuous spiral weld, welded internally and externally using automatic submerged arc welding. This method of fabrication is often the most economical solution for medium to large size structural and non-structural applications.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
Typical applications:
- Pipes – typically used in pipelines for conducting liquid or gas
- Piles – bearing elements for foundations typically within civil and marine environments
- Casings for concrete piles
- Components within mechanical systems and high pressure/temperature processes
- Oil & petroleum casings
