Project Purpose
A new bridge is being built crossing the BHP Rail line & client needs to retain 4m of soil within 3m of the rail line to build the bridge foundations. A sheet pile wall was constructed to provide excavation support.
Features & Notes
The Giken system allowed for installation of sheet piles near the vibration sensitive BHP rail line without disrupting normal operation.

Project Purpose
Excavation support to allow construction of Pollutant Traps during construction of an Urban Drain
Features & Notes
The site was located adjacent to houses and some existing Watercorp assets.
The low noise, no vibration method was able to operate near a housing estate and ensured no damage to existing structures and minimised noise pollution.
The Silent Piler was able to operate with a small footprint and avoided unwanted interference with local traffic.

Project Purpose
Excavation support to remove abandoned sheet piles, which are clashing with Brisbane Metro tunnel alignment.
Features & Notes
The site was located along a busy street in Brisbane City Centre and bound by the State Heritage Listed Brisbane City Hall, new Metro entrance structure, protected vegetation and underground services.
The Silent Piler was able to operate with a small footprint and allowed the community to continue to enjoy public spaces, transport and social activities. The low noise, no vibration method also ensured no damage to existing heritage areas.
Pigtail Bridge Sheet Piling Works

Project Purpose
Excavation support for blade piers foundation for Shared User Path Bridge over City West Link and Sydney Light Rail.
Features & Notes
The excavation was to be completed between a live railway track and heritage listed storm water canal with residences in close proximity. The site, being extremely confined, could not accept construction-related vibration. Our machine was able to satisfy no noise, no vibration requirements while working in confined spaces without disturbing surrounding infrastructure. Installation was 50% faster than anticipated.

Macdonald Street Widening

Project Purpose
Construction of temporary shoring walls to support excavation for installation of concrete box culverts for stormwater drainage. Excavation boundary close to existing services (electricity, gas and communications).
Features & Notes
Piling in urban environment, in front of high density residential buildings, working in close proximity to live services in the ground.
The Giken solution created minimal noise and no vibration, therefore existing infrastructure remains undisturbed.
At end of life, sheet piles were readily extracted. J Steel bought back the extracted piles for sale and reuse.

GMP Laboratories and Cyclotron Project

Project Purpose
Construction of temporary shoring walls to support an excavation for a new hospital building. The new building and laboratory facilities will be used to house the new Cyclotron machine, which will work to meet rising demand for radiopharmaceuticals used for diagnosis and management of cancer, neurological and cardiovascular conditions.
Features & Notes
Piling location was bound closely by hospital structures on all four sides, each with varying basement levels. The Silent Piler was able to work minimal noise, no vibration and in a tight location. The surrounding hospital buildings stayed open and there was no impact to general operations. No impact on patients and surrounding buildings and sensitive medical equipment.
