Atlassian HQ Central Station
Project Purpose
Heavy hot rolled beams for construction of a 39-storey building that will be the world's tallest hybrid timber and steel building.
Features & Notes
Supplied as XCarb®.
Case studies in sustainable steel: design, mill-direct supply and vibration-free installation on Australia's most constrained and sensitive sites.

Heavy hot rolled beams for construction of a 39-storey building that will be the world's tallest hybrid timber and steel building.
Supplied as XCarb®.

Supply of sheet piles for grade separation.
Supplied with interlock sealant.

A new bridge is being built crossing the BHP Rail line and the client needed to retain 4m of soil within 3m of the rail line to build the bridge foundations. A sheet pile wall was constructed to provide excavation support.
The Giken system allowed for installation of sheet piles near the vibration-sensitive BHP rail line without disrupting normal rail operations.

Expansion of the Royal Australian Navy shipbuilding facilities at Osborne.
Supplied as XCarb® EcoSheetPile™ Plus.

Supply of structural steel sections for a premium commercial office tower in the Melbourne CBD.

Construction of a load out facility for an iron sands mine.
Supplied fully fabricated direct from Luxembourg to Fiji.

Supply of sheet piles for a cut off wall at HMAS Coonawarra naval base.
HZM and AZ sheets all supplied coated locally in Darwin.

Excavation support to allow construction of pollutant traps during construction of an urban drain. The site was located adjacent to houses and existing Watercorp assets.
The low noise, no vibration method was able to operate near a housing estate and ensured no damage to existing structures while minimising noise pollution.

Shaft excavation support on Brisbane City Council’s Brisbane Metro project. The site was located along a busy street in Brisbane City Centre, bound by the State Heritage Listed Brisbane City Hall, a new Metro entrance structure, protected vegetation and underground services.
Sheet piles delivered direct to site from Antwerp.

Excavation support for blade piers foundation for the Shared User Path Bridge over City West Link and Sydney Light Rail.
The excavation was completed between a live railway track and a heritage listed storm water canal with residences in close proximity. The confined site could not accept construction-related vibration. Our machine satisfied no noise, no vibration requirements while working in confined spaces without disturbing surrounding infrastructure. Installation was 50% faster than anticipated.

Construction of temporary shoring walls to support road widening works, piling in an urban environment in front of high density residential buildings and in close proximity to live services.
At end of life, sheet piles were readily extracted. J Steel bought back the extracted piles for sale and reuse, a working example of circular economy in steel.

Construction of temporary shoring walls to support an excavation for a new hospital building housing a new Cyclotron machine, meeting rising demand for radiopharmaceuticals used in diagnosis and management of cancer, neurological and cardiovascular conditions.
The piling location was bound closely by hospital structures on all four sides. The Silent Piler worked with minimal noise, no vibration, in a tight location, the surrounding hospital buildings stayed open with no impact on patients or sensitive medical equipment.

Sheet piling works for a pump station upgrade in the Arden Macaulay precinct, piling in close proximity to a heritage building, existing builds and sensitive services.
The Giken solution created minimal noise, no vibration and caused no disturbance to existing infrastructure.

Wharf construction works at Marsden Point, Whangarei Harbour.

Supply of SC & HH rail for construction of a rail link between Epping and Rouse Hill as part of the CityRail Network.
Rail supplied from the ArcelorMittal Spain mill.

Construction of wet & dry berths to meet the ongoing demands of maritime sectors operating in northern waters.
Supplied as XCarb® & EcoSheetPile™ Plus.

Design and construction of a temporary combi-wall cofferdam to create a drained working space for the construction of the main structure of the New Sydney Fish Market.
The Giken solution was nominated for its low noise and low impact methodology, particularly beneficial adjacent to the operational Fish Market, Blackwattle Bay College, residential areas and public amenities.
